Dreamhack event screens

DreamHack will be delaying each of its remaining 2020 events until next year, the Esports tournament organizer has announced. The company had plans to have five Esports and gaming festivals throughout the concluding months of 2020. All of which are now going to occur sometime in 2021. Most of the 2020 DreamHack activities have been pushed back due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

All DreamHack Events for the Year 2020

Initially, DreamHack planned 11 esports festivals to be held worldwide in 2020. The schedule comprised visits to Valencia, Spain, Sweden, and India. The German and California events have been the only two to happen as per the schedule.

Owing to the outbreak, DreamHack initially delayed DreamHack Dallas, Summer, and Montreal to 2021. But now both events will be getting accompanied by five more happenings next year.

There will be DreamHack Online Events

The good news is that a number of online activities will be taking place, including DreamHack Open showcasing Fortnite. This online competition for Europe and North American players will be awarding a $250,000 prize pool monthly until January 2021. DreamHack Open Summer, the StarCraft 2 Masters, Warcraft 3 Open, and an upcoming League of Legends championship is also a part of DreamHack’s future schedule.

Other Major 2020 Events Cancelled due to Covid-19

The DreamHack events are just some of several other gaming events that have been affected by the outbreak of Covid-19. CSGO ESL Major got delayed for November that was going to happen in Brazil. The Dota 2 ‘s Major event, The International 10, is unlikely to take place until next year either. Since future date and time have yet to disclose officially, the 2020 festivals of DreamHack will take place in 2021.

Esports Grandstand will be covering all the matches when they do occur. In the meantime feel free to check in on the latest DOTA 2 and League of Legends tournaments.
